ENZO0900 Enzymoplast® Biodegradable Grade

This Masterbatch is added to conventional polyethylene and the resulting film is biodegradable.

biodegradation

A process by which microbial organisms transform or alter (through metabolic or enzymatic action) the structure of chemicals introduced into the environment. The microbial organisms transform polyethylene into CO2, water and biomass.

product description

LLDPE base enzyme composition with proteins and sodium salts in a polyethylene based Masterbatch in Pellet Form.

advantages

  • Carrier is polyethylene
  • Recyclable by conventional waste management
  • Transparent films are possible
  • Similar density to polyethylene
  • Higher material utilization
  • Low percentage of ENZO is needed
  • Complies with the European Directive
  • Unique technology
  • Increases mechanical properties
  • Polyethylene with ENZO has a better LCA than other bio plastics
  • No special processing facilities
  • Low price point

functionality

  • Low Heavy Metal Content
  • Accelerate the biodegradation of polyethylene from hundreds of years to max. 3 years
  • Disintegrates within 3 months in a microbial environment
  • Non Toxic – no negative effect on soil, compost or environment

applications

  • Shopping bags
  • All products with a short and medium life span made from polyethylene

certification

  • United States Food Contact Safe Standard - US FDA 177.1520
  • Biodegradation of plastics under aerobic conditions - ISO 14855
  • Certified as recyclable to standard ASTM D 7209:2006

recommended dosage

The speed of biodegradation depends on the thickness of the film and the concentration of microbial activity in the environment at 'End of Life' of the film.<'p>

Between 1% and 2% depending on the thickness of the PE Film
